Counter Terrorism Training:
Fire Science: These are for individuals
who, on a full-time, part-time, or voluntary basis, provide life
safety services including fire suppression, rescue, arson
investigation, public education and prevention. Includes:
firefighters, company officers, fire marshal’s office, urban search
and rescue (USAR) teams, and technical rescue teams.
The IPSH Firefighter Continuing Education Program will provide
training to assist firefighters in their roles at fire departments.
The program will deliver various monthly training topics. The

voluntary basis, serve as a first responders, EMT’s (Basic), and
paramedics (advanced) on ground-based and aero medical services to

Hazardous Materials Personnel: Individuals who identify,
characterize, provide risk assessment, and mitigate/control the
release of a hazardous substance or potentially hazardous substance.
Includes: Technicians, Specialist, Metropolitan Response System (MMRS),
Environmental Quality Control, and private companies and contractors
supporting hazardous material activities.
Emergency Management Agency: Organizations, both local and
state, which are directed to coordinate preparation, recognition,
response and recovery for WMD incidents. Includes: State and local
emergency management agencies (EMAs), voluntary organizations active
in disaster (VOADs), professional associations (American Society of
Civil Engineers, American Institute of Architects, etc.), human
service agencies and private agencies supporting EMA activities.
