IT Specializations & Certificates

  Many of our certificates are based on the Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA)  program. Once you've taken this four-course sequence, it opens the door to additional certifications using Cisco products.

   

 

Certificates

Cisco Certified Network Assistant: The CCNA certificate is a 4-course program that teaches the basics of computer networking services and prepares students to sit for the Cisco Certification Exam. Most other Cisco certifications build off the CCNA certificate.

Cisco Certified Network Professional: CCNP certification indicates knowledge of networking for the small office and home office markets enterprise markets, and the ability to work in organizations whose networks have between 100 and 500 nodes.

Cisco Certified Security Professional: The CCSP provides advanced knowledge and skills required to secure Cisco networks. With a CCSP, a network professional demonstrates the skills required to secure and manage network infrastructures to protect productivity and reduce costs.

Cisco Wireless: The Cisco Wireless Certificate teaches students to design wireless networks using Cisco wireless products, based on a validated understanding of radio frequency and antenna theory.

Cisco VOIP: This class teaches students how to install voice-over-internet-protocol (VOIP) systems using Cisco's CallManager Express line of products.

A+/ IT Essentials 1: The A+ Certification course is a hands-on, entry-level, 5-7 week course teaching basic PC hardware and Windows software support, including installing memory, swapping hard drives and troubleshooting the Windows operating system. Earning A+ certification opens the door to the IT field and helps individuals qualify for positions such as PC/LAN technician, help desk and support technician.

Security+: This course teaches material prepares you for the CompTIA Security+ certification exam. Skills covered include identifying access control and authentication methods, identifying services provided by encryption and managing a Public Key Infrastructure.

Fundamentals of Voice and Data Cabling: This course is designed to align with a certficate that is coming soon from Panduit. Students learn to install copper cable and fiber optic cable.
